Candidate Requirements – Non-Upper Level - Spring 2024
.The path for Non-Upper-Level Candidates to be completed between the beginning of the Spring 2024 semester and Thursday, May 9, to be initiated as Members in Beta Alpha Psi at the beginning of Fall 2024 semester, is as follows:
*The requirements above are for first-time Non-Upper-Level Candidates. The Professional and Service Activities requirements for continuing (second semester) Non-Upper-Level Candidates are the same as those required of first-time Non-Upper-Level Candidates. No additional Candidate fee is required in the second semester as a Non-Upper-Level Candidate.
- Be currently enrolled in at least one upper-level accounting course.
- Sign the Candidate Application and Contract and return it to Maddie McPherson, VP – Candidate Programming by 5 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024.
- Provide unofficial transcript to Dr. Brian K. Hasson, Faculty Advisor, at [email protected], for verification of a major in accounting, and an overall GPA of at least 3.0
- Participate in an introductory 20-30 minute meeting with Dr. Hasson no later than Friday, February 23, 2024
- Complete participation requirements for membership during the Spring 2024 semester:
- Minimum of 7 Professional Activities (typically completed in Chapter meetings)
- Minimum of 5 Service Activities (e.g., tutoring, Beans2Brew, Principles Dinner, Street Clean Up, Graduate Program Hooding Ceremony, etc.)
- Pay a one-time Candidate fee of $100 by 5 PM on Friday, February 9, 2024
*The requirements above are for first-time Non-Upper-Level Candidates. Candidate Requirements – Upper Level - Spring 2024
The path for Upper Level Candidates to be completed between the beginning of the Spring 2024 semester and Friday, April 5, 2024 to be initiated as a Member in Beta Alpha Psi at the Spring 2024 Banquet on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, is as follows:
*Note that Fall semester Candidate Inductions as Upper-Level Candidates occur in September, and Initiations as Members occur during the following November, while Spring semester Candidate Inductions as Upper-Level Candidates occur in January and Initiations as Members occur during the following April.
- Sign the Candidate Application and Contract and return it to Maddie McPherson, VP – Candidate Programming by 5 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024.
